PARTNERSHIPS

In the aerospace field, we work with more than forty major industry partners

TRAINING

Polytechnique is the only university in Québec to offer a Bachelor?s degree in Aerospace Engineering. It also offers a Master?s degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Certificate in Aeronautics. Our engineering doctoral programs also train many aerospace researchers and specialists. THESE PARTNERSHIPS GIVE RISE TO SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS. HERE ARE A FEW EXAMPLES? NSERC/Safran Industrial Research Chair on Novel 3D Composite Materials for the Aerospace Industry NSERC Chair in Integrated Design toward Efficient Aircraft Chair in High Performance Composites Design and Manufacturing NSERC Multisectorial Industrial Research Chair in Coatings and Surface Engineering Embedded Damping Elements in Composites Static, Fatigue and Ageing Behaviour of Composites Used at High Temperature Data Networks and Smart Sensors for Safety-Critical Avionics Applications Architecture Exploration for High-Integrated and Low-Cost Avionic Systems Automated Non Destructive Testing for the Aerospace Industry Processes for Formation and Removal of Erosion Resistant Coatings Advanced analysis and modelling in digital and experimental aerodynamics Aircraft end-of-life management from a sustainable development perspective Applied research in additive-process manufacturing Operational research in transport NSERC, Safran Group NSERC, Bombardier, Pratt & Whitney CRC, Safran/Snecma/Herakles NSERC, Canadian Space Agency, Pratt & Whitney Artec, Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, Pratt & Whitney Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce Bombardier, Thales, Astrium CAE, CMC Électronique, Astrium L-3 MAS, Pratt & Whitney Canada Space Agency, MDS-PRAD Technologies, Pratt & Whitney, Safran/Turbomeca European universities ALCOA, BFI, Bombardier, CNRC-IMI, CTA, Pratt & Whitney Bombardier, Bell Helicopter, Pratt & Whitney Ad Opt, Kronos, Thales, airlines And numerous other projects and partnerships.

INTERNSHIPS INFRASTRUCTURE

Prof. Edu Ruiz and Bruno Dambrine, composite and materials expert, Safran/Snecma INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS In 2013-2014, more than 360 of our aerospace students were offered internships, including 120 with Bombardier. In addition to the services offered by the Jobs and Internship Service, the Institute for Innovation and Conception in Aerospace at Polytechnique (IICAP) offers students the opportunity to participate in industrial R & D projects and to do internships with one of the area?s many aeronautics firms. Since 2001, the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the Quebec Government have contributed to projects totalling over $223 million in research infrastructure at Polytechnique Montréal, including $38 million for aerospace research. Polytechnique is a unique research, collaboration and learning environment, both for the quality of its research equipment and for its expertise. PROF. EDU RUIZ, WHO EARNED HIS DEGREE FROM POLY? TECHNIQUE MONTRÉAL, HOLDS THE NEW NSERC/SAFRAN INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH CHAIR ON NOVEL 3D COMPOSITE MATERIALS FOR THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY, INAUGURA? TED IN DECEMBER 2013. « In our large-scale 3D composite laboratory (Labo CGD), created with our partners? support, we have developed a manufacturing process that may be the one used for the LEAP-X turboreactor engine, which will propel new airplanes within a few years. »
